One True King
March 3rd, 2010 by antiochThe King is dead, long live the King! And with this battle the story of this expansion is over (other than the filler content patches before Cataclysm of course…), our 25-man raid team has defeated Arthas and unlocked hard modes. Thanks again to all those who’ve made it possible! Since I am late posting this, I can include the list of hard modes we’ve defeated already:
- Marrowgar, Gunship, Deathbringer Saurfang, Rotface, Blood Council and Valithria hard modes are all conquered thus far.
On another note, we’re currently looking to expand our roster again, right now ranged DPS is in demand for Wicked Mojo. If you’re interested and think you’ve got the chops for hard modes you can apply here.
Hail to the King, Baby!

December 7th, 2009 by antiochAll I can say is thank Jeebus this fight is over and done with. Took us (way) too long to get this done but here it is, and before 3.3 thankfully. For shame. After a full month of screwing around and accomplishing nothing significant, we made the hard decisions that were needed and finally started to see the progress that would lead to this kill, though it really wasn’t a very polished encounter to begin with.
Though I’m sure the popular strategy of single-tanking the adds with ridiculous gearing and a dedicated MD/TotT per add was not the preferred strategy they had in mind, retooling an entire raid just for this one fight, stacking the shit out of melee, bringing 3x (or more) Death Knights and Rogues each, respeccing to some wacky-ass shit and sitting our regulars in order to bring in people’s ALTS does not make for a fun and enjoyable fight. This acutely brought back some of the worst parts of Sunwell Plateau that shouldn’t have happened again.
In the end it comes to a lackluster filler content that never got the resources it needed to be anything but a way to buy time for the development of Icecrown Citadel. While I can understand the need for it, especially so shortly after a well-developed (and great I might add) instance like Ulduar, however I do not condone it. I’d like to give a sincere “f*** you” to Blizzard for the entirety of ToC and the subpar quality of the entire 3.2 patch compared to what we’ve all come to expect from them. Perhaps I will <3 you again after I see 3.3, but then again here we go with more artificial limiters so that remains to be seen…
